"The race of mankind would perish did they cease to aid each other. We cannot exist without mutual help. All therefore that need aid have a right to ask it from their fellow-men; and no one who has the power of granting can refuse it without guilt."

This Foundation sources and provides affordable equipment, machine tools and experienced engineers to assist start up companies and train locals to run them well. We also provide share capital and loans in cooperation with local banks and investors through our investment banking service. We are though still mentors and not investors.
We know from history and experience that a return on investment is one of the most important drivers of industrial development but equally we understand any enterprise established in the environment that is the African continent cannot be loaded with the disproportionate costs of new western equipment or people. As in the west - many start small but many will grow, however a company employing 40 local people producing goods for a local market at local prides cannot afford to more than double its payroll by paying the salary and accommodation for the mentor it needs during its learning time.
This Foundation fills that gap by supporting the mentor and those involved in sourcing the capital equipment needed. This we believe gives those enterprises a normally healthy chance to prosper and provide a good return to its local and foreign investors. In many ways what many organizations have tried before - we do not however just install donated equipment - leave it unsupported and hope someone can find an opportunity to use it. We identify a commercial opportunity - then provide the planning, the equipment and the support using people who know what it is about.
Our people are older and more experienced than most - they are not young white people on what amounts to paid exotic vacations driving fleets of NGO Assault Vehicles (brand-new AWDs with big radio antennas) to hundred-dollar-a-night hotels for feasts of steak and lobster. If our man needs transport - he will hire a local taxi at local rates - if he needs food and shaving gear he will purchase his needs from the local market and take it to his local accommodation.
We need as much help as we can get to do this, any support or donations will be gratefully received and well used. If you want to help then please use one of the following methods:
